Reward yourself:  Find something that your entire family can look forward to once the work is done.  This could be a weekend getaway, a day at a waterpark, or just dinner out to your favorite restaurant (or a massage or pedicure for yourself!).  Work toward this reward together and this will allow you to focus less on the difficulties of the move and look forward to the reward instead.
2. Make packing (and unpacking) a game:  Plan to pack each of your rooms separately. Use a color-coded system for each room and make packing a game.  Enlist the help of your little ones by having them pack things in small boxes. Use charts, colors and symbols to illustrate what boxes go in what rooms in the new house.
3. Use technology:  There are new apps for moving where you can log things that can help you indicate what’s in each box in each room of your home.  You can also take pictures of any items you are concerned about remembering so that you will have an easier time unpacking!
4. Party:  When you have downtime, play music, have a dance party, eat junk food, do something fun to pass the time.  You can even make a “moving playlist” and listen to your favorite songs while you pack.
